Dr. Shek On Gun was born and raised in Hong Kong and immigrated to the bay area. He is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. After obtaining a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and cell biology, he moved across the country to study the eye at Pennsylvania College of Optometry, one of the first Optometry schools in the US.

During his various rotations and externships, he studied under and worked with various optometrist and ophthalmologists from the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital, one of the top ophthalmology hospitals in the world. His interest in specialty contact lenses led him to attend a specialty contact lens and anterior segment rotation that only accepts 8 students out of his class of 160 future doctors, where he refined his skills designing Ortho K lenses, and specialty lenses.

In 2025, Dr. Gun opened his own practice to provide the best patient care that his patients deserves.

In his spare time, Dr. Gun likes to hike and travel with his loved ones.
